I, Jenny Macklin, Minister for Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs, make this Declaration under paragraph 4(4)(a) of the Northern Territory National Emergency Response Act 2007.

1              Name of Declaration

This Declaration is the Northern Territory National Emergency Response (Arnhem Land) Declaration 2008 (No. 1).

2              Commencement

This Declaration commences on the day after it is registered.

3              Areas that are not prescribed areas

For the purposes of paragraph 4(4)(a) of the Northern Territory National Emergency Response Act 2007, each area specified in Schedule 1 is not a prescribed area.
