I, MALCOLM THOMAS BROUGH, Minister for Families, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs, make this Declaration under paragraph 19(1)(b) of the Northern Territory National Emergency Response Act 2007.

1 Name of Declaration
This Declaration is the Northern Territory National Emergency Response (Alcohol) Declaration 2007 (No. 1).
2 Commencement
This Declaration commences on the day after it is registered.
3 Alcohol restrictions cease to have effect for certain areas
For paragraph 19(1)(b) of the Northern Territory National Emergency Response Act 2007, each part of a prescribed area specified in Schedule 1 is a part of a prescribed area in relation to which Division 2 of Part 2 of that Act ceases to have effect.
Schedule 1 – Areas in relation to which Division 2 of Part 2 of the Northern Territory National Emergency Response Act ceases to have effect
1 Kakadu National Park – camping grounds
Garnamarr Camping Area
(1) That area of land within the Commonwealth reserve of Kakadu National Park in the vicinity of Jim Jim Falls Access Road known as the Garnamarr Camping Area and defined by natural features, objects, structures or survey points and described as follows:
- commencing at a point indicated by the grid reference 263411E, 8537505N (marked by an upright painted white) on the Jim Jim Falls Access Road approximately 100 metres east of the entrance to the camping area;
- thence heading in a westerly direction (260 degrees) for about 115 metres to the start of a picket fence at a point indicated by the grid reference 263288E, 8537496N;
- thence following the picket fence to the end of the picket fence at a point indicated by the grid reference 263314E, 8537805N;
- thence heading in a north easterly direction to a group of large rocks at a point indicated by the grid reference 263395E, 8537841N;
- thence to an upright painted white at a point indicated by the grid reference 263436E, 8537840N approximately 100 metres along the Jim Jim Falls Access Road north of the entrance to the camping area at a point indicated by the grid reference 263407E, 8537669N; and
- thence in a southerly direction to the point of commencement.
Gunlom Camping Area
(2) That area of land within the Commonwealth reserve of Kakadu National Park known as the Gunlom Camping Area and defined by natural features, objects, structures or survey points and described as follows:
- commencing at the start of the revegetation line at a point indicated by grid reference 220121E, 8513347N (adjacent to the toilet block);
- thence in an easterly direction across to the firebreak line to a point indicated by the grid reference 220287E, 8513328N (defined by a galvanised steel upright painted white);
- thence in a southerly direction along the firebreak line to a point indicated by the grid reference point 220203E, 8513232N (defined by a galvanised steel upright painted white);
- thence in a south westerly direction to a point indicated by the grid reference point 220057E, 8513184N located on the creek line (defined by a galvanised steel upright painted white);
- thence in a north westerly direction along the creek line to a point indicated by the grid reference 219938E, 8513395N (defined by a galvanised steel upright painted white);
- thence in a north easterly direction to a point indicated by the grid reference 219956E, 8513467N (defined by a galvanised steel upright painted white);
- thence in an easterly direction defined by the point indicated by the grid reference 220005E, 8513465N (defined by a galvanised steel upright painted white);
- thence in a southerly direction to a point indicated by the grid reference 220087E, 8513422N (defined by a galvanised steel upright painted white);
- thence in a southerly direction to a point indicated by the grid reference 220105E, 8513355N (defined by a galvanised steel upright painted white); and
- thence in a generally easterly direction to the point of commencement.
Mardugal Camping Area
(3) That area of land within the Commonwealth reserve of Kakadu National Park known as the Mardugal Camping Area and described as follows:
- commencing at a point indicated by the grid reference 233083E, 8569166N;
- thence in a northerly direction to a point indicated by the grid reference 233133E, 8570000N;
- thence in a westerly direction to a point indicated by the grid reference 232546E, 8570000N;
- thence continuing in a south easterly direction to a point indicated by the grid reference 232712E, 8569307N; and
- thence in a south easterly direction to the point of commencement.
Merl Camping Area
(4) That area of land within the Commonwealth reserve of Kakadu National Park known as the Merl Camping Area and described as follows:
- commencing at a point indicated by the grid reference 278099E, 8625450N;
- thence in a north westerly direction to a point indicated by the grid reference 277984E, 8625677N;
- thence in a generally south westerly direction to a point indicated by the grid reference 277306E, 8625475N;
- thence in a south easterly direction to a point indicated by the grid reference 277562E, 8625166N; and
- thence heading east southeast to the point of commencement.
Muirella Park Camping Area
(5) That area of land within the Commonwealth reserve of Kakadu National Park known as the Muirella Park Camping Area and described as follows:
- commencing at a point indicated by grid reference 255963E, 8578089N;
- thence in a north easterly direction to a point indicated by grid reference 256239E, 8578247N;
- thence in a south easterly direction to a point indicated by grid reference 256363E, 8577955N;
- and on to a point indicated by grid reference 256643E, 8577497N;
- thence in a south westerly direction to a point indicated by grid reference 256448E, 8577412N; and
- thence in a north westerly direction to the point of commencement.
2 Nitmiluk National Park – Leliyn Campground
That area of land within Nitmiluk National Park known as Leliyn Campground and defined by the following coordinates:
- commencing at a point described by the coordinates 14 degrees 10 minutes 42.15 seconds south and 132 degrees 11 minutes 12.21 seconds east;
- thence in a south easterly direction to a point described by the coordinates 14 degrees 10 minutes 46.17 seconds south and 132 degrees 11 minutes 15.67 seconds east;
- thence in a south south westerly direction to a point described by the coordinates 14 degrees 10 minutes 52.03 seconds south and 132 degrees 11 minutes 13.04 seconds east;
- thence in a westerly direction to a point described by the coordinates 14 degrees 10 minutes 51.88 seconds south and 132 degrees 11 minutes 5.73 seconds east; and
- thence in a north easterly direction to the commencing point.
