REGULATIONS UNDER THE NORTHERN TERRITORY
(ADMINISTRATION) ACT 1910-1973.*
I, THE
GOVERNOR-GENERAL of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council,
hereby make the following Regulations under the Northern
Territory
(Administration) Act 1910-1973.

Amendments of
the Northern Territory Legislative Council (Fees, Allowances and Expenses)
Regulations
Principal
Regulations.
1. A reference in regulations 2 to 7, inclusive of these
Regulations to a regulation by number shall be read as a reference to the
regulation so numbered of the Northern Territory Legislative Council (Fees,
Allowances and Expenses) Regulations as in force immediately before the
commencement of these Regulations.
Fees
of elected members.
2. Regulation 5 is amended by omitting the words “Two thousand
seven hundred and fifty dollars” and substituting the words “Seven thousand two
hundred and fifty dollars”.
Fee
of President.
3. Regulation 5a is amended by omitting the words “Three thousand three hundred
and fifty dollars” and substituting the words “Eight thousand seven hundred
dollars”.
Entertainment
allowance of President.
4. Regulation 5b is amended by omitting the words “Three hundred dollars” and
substituting the words “Four hundred dollars”.
5. Regulation 6 is repealed and the following regulation
substituted:—
Electoral
allowances for elected members.
“6. An elected
member of the Legislative Council shall receive an allowance in respect of
discharging his duties at the rate of Five hundred dollars a year.”.
Travelling
allowance of elected members.
6. Regulation 7 is amended by omitting
the words “Sixteen dollars fifty cents” and substituting the words “Twenty-two
dollars”.

allowance of elected members.
7. Regulation 8 is amended by omitting the words “Two hundred
dollars” and substituting the words “Three hundred dollars”.
Application.
8. (1) The fee payable to an elected
member of the Legislative Council, other than the President, under regulation 5
of the Northern Territory Legislative Council (Fees, Allowances and Expenses)
Regulations in respect of service as such a member from and including 6th May,
1973, to and including the day immediately before the commencement of these
Regulations is a fee at the rate specified in that regulation as amended by
regulation 2 of these Regulations.
(2) The fee payable to the President of the
Legislative Council under regulation 5a of the Northern Territory
Legislative Council (Fees, Allowances and Expenses) Regulations in respect of
service as President on and after 6th May, 1973, is a fee at the rate specified
in that regulation as amended by regulation 3 of these Regulations.
(3) Travelling allowance payable to an elected member of
the Legislative Council under regulation 7 of the Northern Territory
Legislative Council (Fees, Allowances and Expenses) Regulations in respect of
6th May, 1973, or any subsequent day, is payable at the rate specified in that
regulation as amended by regulation 6 of these Regulations.
