An Act to amend "The Northern Territory Act, 1863,"

and " Thc Northern Territory Customs Act, 1882."

[Assented to, November 17th, 1886.1

HEREAS it is expedient to amend " The Northern Territory

Act, 1882"-Be it therefore enacted by the Governor of the

Province of South Australia, by and with the consent of the Legis- lative Council and House of Assembly of the said province, in this present Parliament assembled, as follows:

1, This Act may be for all purposes cited a,s the

2. Section 10 of the H orthern Tcrritory Act, No. 23 of 1863, is

hereby repealed, and the said Act shall be rend and construed as if

section 8 of this Act had been inserted therein in lieu of the said

section 10 hereby repealed.

all moneys received from or in respect of

revenues.

the Northern Territory, whether as purchase-money, rent, licence fees, custom duties, or otherwise, and all money8 paid or expended upon or in respect of the said Territory, shall be entered and kept distinct from the General Revenue and Expenditure of the said pro- vince, and the said money so received as aforesaid shall be applied to the payment of the cost of governing the said Territory, and the general improvement thereof.

is hereby repealed, and the said Act shall be read and construed as if the Schedule hereto had been inserted therein in lieu of the Schedule hereby repealed.

5. This Act and the “Northern Territory Act, 1863," and the G Northern Territory Customs Act, 1882," shall be read and con- strued as one Act.
