This instrument is the Northern Prawn Fishery (Closures Amendment) Direction No. 1 2019

2  Commencement

This instrument commences the day after it is registered.

3  Authority

This instrument is made under subsection 41A(3) of the Fisheries Management Act 1991.

4  Schedules

Each instrument that is specified in a Schedule to this instrument is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this instrument has effect according to its terms.

Schedule 1—Amendments

Northern Prawn Fishery (Closures) Direction No. 172

1  Subsection 4.1, after definition of “rock lobster”

Insert:

“scampi” means fish of the families Aristeidae and Nephropidae. 

2  Paragraph 7.1(f)

Omit “species.”, substitute “species; or”

3  After paragraph 7.1(f)

Insert:

(g) scampi in the period commencing at 22.00 hours UTC on 19 April and ending at 14.30 hours UTC on 31 December 2019.
