AN ACT to authorise the co-operation of the State with the Commonwealth and the State of Queensland in a geophysical survey of certain areas in the Northern parts of Australia and for other relative purposes.

Preamble.

HEREAS by an Act of the Commonwealth Parlia- Australia Survey Act, 1934, the Commonwealth wasWment (No. 61 of 1934), entitled the Northern

authorised to co-operate with the States of Queensland and Western Australia in the conduct of a geological and geophysical survey of certain areas in the Northern parts of Australia, and for the purpose of meeting the cost of the said survey it was agreed that the Commonwealth and the State of Western Australia and the State of Queensland should provide the sum of one hundred and fifty thousand pounds, of which the Commonwealth would provide one half and each of the States one quarter : And it was further provided in the said Act that a committee should be appointed to carry out such survey with the powers and duties therein mentioned : And whereas it is desired to ratify such agreement on the part of this State : Be it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Maj- esty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legisla- tive Council and Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows :—

1.    This Act may be cited as the Northern Australia
