AN ACT to amend the Newspaper Libel and

Registration Act, 1884, Amendment Act, 1888.

[Assented to 26th October, 1957.]

RE it enacted, by the Queen's Most Excellent

Majesty, by and with the advice and consent

of the Legislative Council and the Legislative

Assembly of Western Australia, in this present

Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the

same, as follows:—

Short title. 1. This Act may be cited as the Newspaper Libel

and Registration Act Amendment Act, 1957.

Amendment	2. Section three of the Newspaper Libel and
of a. 3 of

52 Viet.,	Registration Act, 1884, Amendment Act, 1888, is
No. 18.
amended by inserting after the word "sufficient" in line ten of the section the words "up to a maximum of one hundred pounds".

Repeal of 3. Section four of the Newspaper Libel and

s. 4	of
52 Vi	et , Registration Act, 1884, Amendment Act, 1888, is
No. 18.

hereby repealed.

4. Section five of the Newspaper Libel and gletent

Registration Act, 1884, Amendment Act, 1888, is ?Mt'

amended by deleting the word "four" in line four of

the section and substituting the word "twelve".
