An Act to authorize the Granting of Leases of certain Land in the Township of Newhaven, Parish of Phillip Island.

Preamble

WHEREAS the land delineated on the plan of the Schedule is part of the land permanently reserved by Order in Council of 23rd April 1929[1] as a site for public purposes:

AND WHEREAS it is expedient to authorize the Governor in Council to grant leases of the said land:

BE IT THEREFORE ENACTED by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Victoria in this present Parliament assembled and by the authority of the same as follows (that is to say):

1.Short title

This Act may be cited as the Newhaven Land Act 1971.

2.Power to Governor in Council to grant leases

Notwithstanding the provisions of section 18 of the Land Act 1958, the Governor in Council may in accordance with the provisions of section 134 of the said Act grant leases of the land delineated on the plan of the Schedule.

Land in the Township of Newhaven, Parish of Phillip Island, County of Mornington, in respect of which the Governor in Council may grant leases.

The Newhaven Land Act 1971 was assented to on 3 November 1971 and came into operation on 3 November 1971.
