1. I’liis Act may be cited as the “ Newcastle Sand-drift Pecla-

mation A c t” and in its construction the word “ GoA'crnor ” except as

appearing in the firth section of this Act shall mean the “ Governor

witli the advice of the Executive! Council” and the words “ PrineijAal

A(!t ” shall mean the Act forty-fourth A'ictoria number sixteen as	■
amended by the Act forty-ilfth N’ietoria number twenty-six.
2. Eor the purpose of arre'sting as far as possible the further deposit of sand upon the lands respectWcly described in Schedules A 13 iimda described in

shall be hnvful for tlic Governor to resume the said lands or any part thereof in the same manner and sulyeet to the same provisions and conditions as lands may be ri'sumed for public purposes under the Princi2)al Act and such reclamation shall be deemed to be a public Avork and undertaking Avithin the meaning of the said Principal Act and sucli Act shall for all ])ur])oses apply to the said lands and to the resumption thereof except that the lands so resumed shall vest in the Seci'('tary for Mines.

5. The Colonial Treasurer shall by virtue of Avarrants of the

GoA c'rnor under his hand (which he is liereby authorized to issue) disposui of proceeds

pay out of the Consolidat('d llevenue Eund such sums of money as

shall be found necessary to ]>rovide compensation moneys for lands

resumed under this Act Provided alAAxays that the proceeds of sale of

any portion of such resumed lands and the rents and ])rofits deriAU'd

from the leasing of any ])ortion of such lands or buildings erected

thereon shall be paid over to the said Treasurer and be by him carrif'd

to the credit of the Consolidat('d Pevenue Eund.
