-An Act to authorise the New South Wales State Cancer Council to retain a gift or bequest o f certain property and to expend moneys for certain purposes; for these and other purposes to amend the New South Wales State Cancer Council Act, 1955; and for purposes connected therewith. [Assented to, 14th October, 1970.]

and with the advice and consent of the Legislative

Council and Legislative Assembly of New South Wales in

Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as

follows ; —

1.     This Act may be cited as the “New South Wales State short title.

Cancer Council (Amendment) Act, 1970”.

(a) by omitting from subsection five of section eleven

( 2 a ) Notwithstanding subsection five of section eleven of this Act, where the Council accepts a gift or bequest of securities being debentures, debenture stock, preference or ordinary stock or preference or ordinary shares, of a company incor­ porated under the law of a State or of a Territory of the Commonwealth (including a Territory under trusteeship) and the securities are not subject to a liability for calls or other payments other than a call or calls within a limited period, the Council may—

(a) retain the securities;

(b)

pay any calls or other payments in respect thereof; and

(c)

exercise any rights to participate in an issue of securities accruing to the Council as the holder of the securities retained.
