AN ACT to validate certain Rates levied by

the Nelson Road Board.

[Assented to 5th December, 1916.]

Council and Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, inBE it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, byand with the advice and consent of the Legislative

this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority

of the same, as follows :—

1.    This Act may be cited as the Nelson Rates Validation short title.

Act, 1916.

All rates heretofore made and levied, or purporting to be made and levied, by the Nelson Road Board under the system of valuation on the annual value, in respect of land situated within the area of the townsite of Bridgetown and the adjacent lands within the boundaries described in the schedule hereto, shall be deemed to have been lawfully made and levied, and all things necessary to be done in and towards the making of such rates shall be deemed to have been duly and lawfully performed, notwithstanding any failure to comply with the provisions of the Roads Act, 1911, relating thereto ; and the said rates may be recovered by the said

Road Board accordingly, as if the provisions of the said Act had been in all respects duly complied with, and not- withstanding that the said lands, or any portion thereof, may not have been defined by proclamation for the purpose of levying rates on the system of valuation on the annual value.

All lands in the Nelson Road District within the Commonage boundary

at Bridgetown as delineated on the plan of the Department of Lands and

Surveys, marked Nelson 439B
