REGULATION UNDER THE NAVIGATION ACT 1912-1965.*

I, THE ADMINISTRATOR of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulation under the Navigation Act 1912-1965.

Amendment of the Navigation (Survey) Regulations 

Survey.

Regulation 7 of the Navigation (Survey) Regulations is amended by omitting sub-regulation (2.) and inserting in its stead the following sub-regulations:—

“(2.) An inspection of the structure of a ship includes an inspection of the outside of the bottom of the hull, the rudder and bearings of the propeller shafts (if any) and all underwater fittings.

“(2a.) For the purposes of sub-section (1.) of section 193 of the Act, the prescribed period applicable to the parts of a ship, being a River Murray ship, referred to in the last preceding sub-regulation is a period of four years.”.
