REGULATIONS UNDER THE NAVIGATION ACT 1912-1935.*

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Navigation Act 1912-1935.

Amendments of the Navigation (River Murray Traffic) Regulations.

Lights to be exhibited on steamships under way.

Regulation 8 of the Navigation (River Murray Traffic) Regulations is amended—

(a) by inserting at the end of paragraph (a) of sub-regulation (1.) the following proviso:—

“Provided that in cases where, owing to limited clearances under bridges it is impracticable for the light to be carried twelve feet above the wheelhouse deck of any vessel passing under the bridges, the light may be carried at a lower height than twelve feet but shall be carried in as high a position as is practicable and not less than six feet above the level of the green and red sidelights referred to in this sub-regulation.”; and

(b) byomitting from sub-regulation (5) the words “an electric search-light” and inserting in their stead the words “a search-light”.
