Navigation (Radio) Regulations2 (Amendment)

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Navigation Act 1912.

Commencement

1. These Regulations shall come into operation on 26 January 1982.

Radio Officers

2. Regulation 47 of the Navigation (Radio) Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from sub-regulation (1) "registered in Australia or engaged in the coasting trade" and substituting "to which Part II of the Act applies";

(b) by omitting from sub-regulation (3) "registered in Australia or engaged in the coasting trade" and substituting "to which Part II of the Act applies"; and

(c) by omitting from sub-regulation (4) "not registered in Australia or engaged in the coasting trade" and substituting "to which Part II of the Act does not apply".

Wireless signallers

3. Regulation 48 of the Navigation (Radio) Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from sub-regulation (1) "registered in Australia or engaged in the coasting trade" and substituting "to which Part II of the Act applies";

(b) by omitting from sub-regulation (3) "registered in Australia or engaged in the coasting trade" and substituting "to which Part II of the Act applies"; and

(c) by omitting from sub-regulation (4) "not registered in Australia or engaged in the coasting trade" and substituting "to which Part II of the Act does not apply".

Sixth Schedule

4. The Sixth Schedule to the Navigation (Radio) Regulations is amended by omitting "Port of registry" (wherever occurring) and substituting "Home port or Port of registry".
