REGULATIONS UNDER THE NAVIGATION ACT 1912‑1920.

I, THE GOVERNOR‑GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Navigation Act 1912‑1920, to come into operation forthwith.

AMEndment of Navigation (Passengers) Regulations

(Statutory Rules 1923, No.124.)

1. The Navigation (Passengers) Regulations are amended by inserting, after regulation 9, the following regulation:—

“9a. The following ports in Australia shall be principal ports for the purposes of section 279 of the Navigation Act, viz.:—

New South Wales..................................

Brisbane, Cairns, Townsville.

South Australia.....................................

Port Adelaide.

Western Australia.................................

Fremantle, Albany.

2. Regulation 10 of the Navigation (Passengers) Regulations is amended by omitting sub‑regulation (4) and inserting in its stead the following sub‑regulation:—

“(4.) The proper officer for the purpose of this regulation shall be—

(i) as regards Forms P.1 and P.2, the Boarding Inspector or Clearing Clerk at the port or, where there is no such officer, the chief officer of Customs at the port; and

(ii) as regards Form P.3, the Collector of Customs or chief officer of Customs at the port.”

3. The Schedule to the Navigation (Passengers) Regulations is amended by the omission of Forms P.1 and P.2, and the insertion in their stead of the following Forms:—
