Navigation (Musters and Drills) Regulations2 (Amendment)

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Navigation Act 1912.

Commencement

1. These Regulations shall come into operation on 1 January 1982.

Interpretation

2. Regulation 4 of the Navigation (Musters and Drills) Regulations is amended by omitting from sub-regulation (1) the definition of "certificated lifeboatman" and substituting the following definition:

"'certificated lifeboatman' means a seaman who holds—

(a) a certificate of efficiency as lifeboatman issued under orders made in pursuance of regulations made under the Act; or

(b) a certificate issued or recognized under a law in force in the United Kingdom, being a certificate that corresponds with a certificate referred to in paragraph (a);".

Repeal of Part IV

3. Part IV of the Navigation (Musters and Drills) Regulations is repealed.
