Navigation (Miscellaneous Equipment) Regulations2 (Amendment)

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Navigation Act 1912.

Interpretation

1. Regulation 2 of the Navigation (Miscellaneous Equipment) Regulations is amended by omitting from sub-regulation (1) the definitions of "Class Iship", "Class II ship" and "Class IIIship" and substituting the following definitions:

"'Class I ship' means a passenger steamship to which Part II of the Act applies, other than a Class IV ship;

'Class II ship' means a cargo steamship to which Part II of the Act applies, other than a Class IV ship;

'Class III ship' means a sailing ship (whether fitted with a mechanical auxiliary means of propulsion or not) to which Part II of the Act applies;".

Commencement

2. Regulation 1 shall come into operation on 26 January 1982.
