REGULATIONS UNDER THE NAVIGATION ACT
1912.*
I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the
Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive
Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Navigation Act 1912.

Amendments of the Navigation (Master and
Seamen) Regulations
Commencement.
1. These Regulations shall
come into operation on 1 January 1977.
Permit to sign articles.
2. Regulation 6 of the
Navigation (Master and Seamen) Regulations is amended by omitting from
sub-regulation (2) the words “ Sixty cents ” and substituting the figure “ $1 ”.
Fees, engagement and discharge.
3. Regulation 9 of the
Navigation (Master and Seamen) Regulations is amended by omitting from
paragraph (a) the words “ Forty cents ” and substituting the figures and word “
60 cents ”.
Objections to fines.
4. Regulation 16 of the
Navigation (Master and Seamen) Regulations is amended by omitting from
paragraph (b) of sub-regulation (1) the words “ Six dollars ” and substituting
the figure “ $9 ”.
Certificate of service as a seaman.
5. Regulation 26 of the Navigation (Master and
Seamen) Regulations is amended by omitting the words “ One dollar ” and
substituting the figure “ $2 ”.

6. Regulation 27 of the
Navigation (Master and Seamen) Regulations is amended—
(a) by omitting sub-regulation (2) and
substituting the following sub-regulation:—
“ (2) Where the work is performed on board ship during ordinary
official hours, the charge is in accordance with the following tables:—
(a) Engagement of seamen.

sixty cents ” and substituting the figures “ $2.40 ”.

7. Regulation 28 of the
Navigation (Master and Seamen) Regulations is amended by omitting the words “ Eighty
cents ” and substituting the figures “ $1.20 ”.
Waiting time.
8. Regulation 29 of the
Navigation (Master and Seamen) Regulations is amended by omitting the words “ Eighty
cents ” and substituting the figures “ $1.20 ”.
Postponement fee.
9. Regulation 30 of the
Navigation (Master and Seamen) Regulations is amended by omitting the words “ Eighty
cents ” and substituting the figures “ $1.20 ”.
Cancellation fee.
