Navigation (Marine Council and Committees

of Advice) Regulations2 (Amendment)

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Navigation Act 1912.

Commencement

1. These Regulations commence on 1 June 1990.

Principal Regulations

2. In these Regulations, “Principal Regulations” means the Navigation (Marine Council and Committees of Advice) Regulations.

Citation

3. Regulation 1 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting “and Committees of Advice”.

Interpretation

4. Regulation 3 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting the definition of “committee of advice”.

5. Regulations 6, 7 and 8 of the Principal Regulations arc repealed and the following regulation is substituted:

Participation in meetings by telephone etc.

“6. (1) A member of the Marine Council may participate in a meeting of the Marine Council by means of:

(a) telephone; or

(b) closed circuit television; or

(c) another method of communication determined by the Marine Council.

“(2) A member who participates in a meeting as provided by subregulation (1) is taken to be present at the meeting.”.
