REGULATIONS UNDER THE NAVIGATION ACT 1912-1952.*

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL, in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following regulations under the Navigation Act 1912-1952.

Amendments of the Navigation (Manning, Accommodation and

Coasting Trade) Regulations.

1. After regulation 16a of the Navigation (Manning, Accommodation and Coasting Trade) Regulations the following regulation is inserted :—

Prescribed crew of Tyalla.

“ 16b. The prescribed crew for the ship Tyalla, the official number of which is 181734, is the number of persons specified in Schedule II, to the Act for each of the descriptions specified in that Schedule for the class of ships in which that ship is included and a chief steward and three assistant stewards.”.

Amendment of Third Schedule.

2. The Third Schedule to the Navigation (Manning, Accommodation and Coasting Trade) Regulations is amended—

(a)by inserting after the word and figures—

1 ”; and

(b) by adding at the end thereof the following footnote :—

“ (g) Subject to the condition that where a Crew Attendant is carried as part of the crew a Boy need not be carried as part of the deck staff.”.

Application of amendment.

3. The amendments effected by these Regulations shall apply from and including the first day of September, 1953.
