REGULATIONS UNDER THE NAVIGATION ACT 1912-1958.*

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Navigation Act 1912-1958.

AMENDMENTS OF THE NAVIGATION (FEES AND ALLOWANCES OF MEMBERS OF COMMITTEES) REGULATIONS. 

Definitions.

1. Regulation 2 of the Navigation (Fees and Allowances of Members of Committees) Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from the definition of “Committee of Advice” the figure “(3.)” and inserting in its stead the figure “(7.)”;

(b)by omitting the definition of ‘“the Act” and inserting in its stead the following definition:—

“ ‘the Act’ means the Navigation Act 1912-1958”; and

(c) by omitting the definition of “the Marine Council” and inserting in its stead the following definition:—

“ ‘the Marine Council’ means the Marine Council constituted by sub-section (1.) of section 424 of the Act.”.

2. Regulation 3 of the Navigation (Fees and Allowances of Members of Committees) Regulations is repealed and the following regulation inserted in its stead:—

Regulations not to apply to certain members.

“3. These Regulations do not apply to a Chairman or a member of a Committee who is—

(a) a member of the Commonwealth Conciliation and Arbitration Commission;

(b) an officer of the Public Service of the Commonwealth; or

(c) an officer of an authority of the Commonwealth.”.
