(Deck Cargo and Live Stock) Regulations2 (Amendment)

Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Navigation Act 1912.

1. The heading to Part I
of the Navigation (Deck Cargo and Live Stock) Regulations is omitted.
Citation
2. Regulation 1 of the
Navigation (Deck Cargo and Live Stock) Regulations is amended by omitting “and
Live Stock”.
Interpretation
3. Regulation 3 of the
Navigation (Deck Cargo and Live Stock) Regulations is amended by omitting the
definitions of “Surveyor”, “Live stock”, “Live stock capacity plan” and “Large
live stock”.

4. The heading to Part II

(a)
by omitting from sub-regulation (1) “or live stock”;
(b)
by omitting paragraphs (2) (a) and (b);
(c)
by omitting from paragraph (2) (c) “or live stock”; and
(d)
by omitting paragraphs (2) (d) and (e).

6. Regulation 5 of the
Navigation (Deck Cargo and Live Stock) Regulations is repealed.

7. Regulation 6 of the Navigation (Deck Cargo and Live
Stock) Regulations is amended—
(a)
by omitting from sub-regulation (1) “live stock or deck cargo in excess of the
following numbers or quantities respectively (including any such live stock or
deck cargo already on board), viz.:” and substituting “deck cargo in excess of
the following quantities (including any deck cargo already on board):”;
(b)
by omitting paragraphs (1) (a) and (b);
(c)
by omitting from paragraph (1) (c)
“vessel” and substituting “ship”;
(d)
by omitting from paragraph (1) (c)
“vessel’s” and substituting “ship’s”;
(e)
by omitting from paragraph (1) (d) “vessel” and substituting “ship”;

9. Regulation 7 of the
Navigation (Deck Cargo and Live Stock) Regulations is amended by omitting “vessel”
and substituting “ship”.
Carriage

10. Regulation 8 of the
Navigation (Deck Cargo and Live Stock) Regulations is amended by omitting from
sub-regulation (1) “or live stock is carried in any vessel” and substituting “is
carried in any ship”.

14. Regulation 16 of the
Navigation (Deck Cargo and Live Stock) Regulations is amended—
(a)
by omitting from sub-regulation (1) “a deck cargo” and substituting “deck cargo”;
and
(b)
by omitting sub-regulations (2) and (3).
Projection
of deck cargo over side
15. Regulation 17 of the
Navigation (Deck Cargo and Live Stock) Regulations is amended by omitting “vessel”
and substituting “ship”.
Deck

16. Regulation 18 of the
Navigation (Deck Cargo and Live Stock) Regulations is amended by omitting “vessel”
(wherever occurring) and substituting “ship”.
Repeal
of regulation 19
17. Regulation 19 of the
Navigation (Deck Cargo and Live Stock) Regulations is repealed.

18. The heading to Part IV
