STATUTORY RULES.
REGULATIONS UNDER THE NAVIGATION ACT 1912-1942.*
I,THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the
Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive
Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the

Amendments of the Navigation (Deck Cargo and Live Stock) Regulations.
(
a )by inserting in sub-regulation (1.), after the word “foreign,”, the words “having on board or”;(
b ) by omitting from paragraph (b ) of sub-regulation (2.) the words “deck cargo or”; and(
c ) by inserting in paragraph (d ) of sub-regulation (2.), after the word “with”, the words “, if a Deputy Director is satisfied that the requirements of these Regulations also are being substantially complied with”.
(
a ) by omitting from paragraph (a ) of sub-regulation (1.) the figures “10” and inserting in their stead the figure “5”;(
b )by omitting from that paragraph the figures “100” and inserting in their stead the figures “50”;(
c ) by omitting from paragraph (b ) of sub-regulation (1.) the figures “50” and inserting in their stead the figure “5”; and(
d )by omitting from that paragraph the figures “200” and inserting in their stead the figures “50”.

“; or (
e ) on, or in such a manner as to prevent any person employed on the ship in port having free access in an emergency to, the normal means of escape from a hold or under-deck space in which he is working.”.
“; or (
g ) obstruct the exits or normal means of escape in an emergency, from a hold or under-deck space in which any person is employed whilst the ship is in port.”.
