REGULATIONS UNDER THE NAVIGATION
ACT 1912-1973.*

THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive
Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Navigation Act 1912-1973.

Amendments of the Navigation(Construction)Regulations
Interpretation.
1. Regulation 4 of the
Navigation (Construction) Regulations is amended by omitting from the
definition of “naval architect” the words “Shipping and”.
Machinery
operated by oil with low flash point not to be fitted.
2. Regulation 188 of the
Navigation (Construction) Regulations is amended by omitting the words “one hundred and fifty degrees
Fahrenheit” and substituting the
figures and words “61 degrees
Celsius”.
Flash
point for oil fuel for cooking ranges.
3. Regulation 245 of the
Navigation (Construction) Regulations is amended by omitting the words “one hundred and fifty degrees
Fahrenheit” and substituting the
figures and words “61 degrees
Celsius”.
Emergency
Electrical installation in cargo ships.
4. Regulation 266 of the
Navigation (Construction) Regulations is amended by omitting from sub-paragraph
(ii) of paragraph (b) of sub-regulation (4) the words “one hundred and fifty degrees Fahrenheit” and substituting the figures and words
“61 degrees Celsius”.
