Navigation (Compass) Regulations (Amendment) (Cth)
I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia,
acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the
following Regulations under the

(a) by omitting sub-regulation (3) and substituting the following sub-regulation:
"(3) Where, as a result of a request made by the owner, builder, master or agent of a ship, the services of an adjuster of compasses are performed during a period when the office of the Department is not open for public business, there is payable by virtue of this sub-regulation, in addition to any other fee payable—
(a) in a case in which such services by the adjuster of compasses during such a period immediately precede, or immediately
follow, services by the adjuster of compasses in relation to that ship at a time when the office of the Department is open for public business—a fee calculated at the rate of $35 for each whole hour or part of an hour falling within that period during which the adjuster of compasses performs those services; or
(b) in any other case—a fee calculated at the rate of $35 for each whole hour or part of an hour falling within that period during which the adjuster of compasses so performs those services, or a fee of $105, whichever is the greater.";
(b) by omitting from sub-regulation (4) all the words after "there is payable," and substituting "in respect of the cancellation, a fee of $108.";
(c) by omitting from sub-regulation (5) all the words after "the rate of" and substituting "$70 for each whole hour, or part of an hour, of the excess is payable by virtue of this sub-regulation in respect of those services."; and
(d) by omitting from sub-regulation (6) "$72" and substituting "$94".
