Navigation (Cargo—Hazards Prevention) Regulations2 (Amendment)

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Navigation Act 1912.

Commencement

1. These Regulations shall come into operation on 26 January 1982.

Application

2. Regulation 4 of the Navigation (Cargo—Hazards Prevention) Regulations is amended by omitting from sub-regulation (1) "British and foreign" and substituting "including ships to which Part II of the Navigation Act 1912 does not apply".

Respirators to be provided on tankers

3. Regulation 23 of the Navigation (Cargo—Hazards Prevention) Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from sub-regulation (1) "registered in Australia or of atanker licensed to engage in the coasting trade" and substituting "that is a ship to which Part II of the Navigation Act 1912 applies"; and

(b) by omitting from sub-regulation (2) "registered in Australia or of a tanker licensed to engage in the coasting trade" and substituting "that is a ship to which Part II of the Navigation Act 1912 applies".
