STATUTORY RULES.
REGULATIONS UNDER THE NAVAL DEFENCE ACT 1910-1918.

advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations,
under the

Amendment of Naval Volunteer Reserve Regulations.
(Statutory Rules 1926, No. 180, as amended to present date.)

1. Regulation 17 is repealed and the following regulation is inserted in its stead:—
“17. The uniform to be worn by Officers is to be of pattern similar to that authorized for Officers of corresponding rank in the Royal Australian Naval Reserve.”
2. Regulation 20 is repealed and the following regulation is inserted in its stead:—
“20. (1) An Officer who, during an emergency, serves voluntarily or is called up for training shall bring with him the articles of uniform which have been issued to him under the provisions of regulation 18.
(2) When called up for service under Proclamation an officer shall be paid an outfit gratuity under the conditions and at the rates following:—
(
a ) On the first occasion, if he has been supplied gratuitously with uniform under regulation 18 £13(
b ) On the first occasion, if has not been supplied gratuitously with uniform under regulation 18 £32(
c ) On any subsequent-occasion, provided five years have elapsed since he was last paid a gratuity under the provisions of this regulation £13.”503.—Price 3d.
3. Regulation 25 is repealed and the following regulation is inserted in its stead:—
“25. (1) A rating who, during an emergency, serves voluntarily or is called up for training, shall bring with him the articles of uniform with which he was provided gratuitously under regulation 24.
(2) When called up for service under Proclamation, a rating shall bring with him the articles of uniform with which he was provided gratuitously under regulation 24. In addition, a rating shall be supplied gratuitously with such additional articles of uniform as may be approved by the Naval Board.
(3) Gratuitous issues of the uniform referred to in sub-regulations (1) and (2) shall not he made more than once in five years to any rating irrespective of the number of occasions on which he may volunteer or be called up for training or service during that period.”
4. Regulation 41 is amended by inserting at the end thereof the following words:—
“except that the rate of Kit Upkeep Allowance shall be one penny per day less than the rate applicable to a man of corresponding rating in the Permanent Naval Forces (Seagoing).”
