“(1a.) The relative rating of a man of the Royal Australian Naval Reserve shall be of the same designation as the relative rating allotted to the rating in the Permanent Naval Forces (Sea-going) corresponding to his rating.”.
(2.) Where, at the date immediately prior to the date upon which these Regulations came into operation, the rating of a member was, under and by virtue of regulation 137 of the Naval Reserve Regulations, classified with a relative rating higher than that with which his rating is classified under that regulation, as amended by sub-regulation (1.) of this regulation, his rating shall continue to be classified with the higher relative rating so long as he continues to hold his rating.
“(8.) If the conduct of any member who has been awarded the medal is such as, in the opinion of the Naval Board, disqualifies him from wearing the medal, he may, except as provided in the next succeeding sub-regulation, be deprived of it by direction of the Board.
“(8a.) While a member is called out for war service, he may be deprived of the medal only on the grounds specified in and in accordance with the provisions of the King’s Regulations and Admiralty Instructions.”.
