REGULATION UNDER THE NAVAL DEFENCE ACT 1910-1949.*

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulation under the Naval Defence Act 1910-1949.

Amendment of the Naval Forces Regulations. 

Eligibility for appointment as Cadet Midshipman (Special Entry).

Regulation 49a of the Naval Forces Regulations is amended by omitting paragraphs (a) and (b)and inserting in their stead the following paragraphs:—

“ (a) his age on the first day of the month of entry is not less than seventeen years and one day and not more than eighteen years and six months; and

(b)he has passed in Mathematics, Physics and English at a Matriculation examination conducted by an Australian University or an examination which the Naval Board deems equivalent to that examination and has obtained in two other subjects passes of a standard satisfactory to the Naval Board.”.
