1955. No. 16.

REGULATIONS UNDER THE NAVAL DEFENCE ACT 1910-1952.*

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Naval Defence Act 1910-1952.

Amendments of the Naval Forces Regulations. 

Retiring ages for sea-going officers appointed prior to 1st January, 1923.

1. Regulation 102 of the Naval Forces Regulations is amended by omitting from the table contained in sub-regulation (1) the words and figures—

2. Regulation 102a of the Naval Forces Regulations is amended by omitting the table contained in sub-regulation (1) and inserting in its stead the following table:—

Prescribed retiring age for Chief Inspector of Naval Ordnance.

3. Notwithstanding anything contained in the Naval Forces Regulations as in force immediately before the nineteenth day of November, 1954, the prescribed retiring age for the officer who, immediately before that date, held the appointment of Chief Inspector of Naval Ordnance shall, on and from that date and until the amendments effected by Statutory Rules, 1954, No. 115 came into operation, be deemed to have been the age of fifty-seven years.

Commencement.

4. Regulations 1 and 2 of these Regulations shall come into operation on the fifteenth day of February, 1955.
