State for Defence, hereby make the following Interim Determination under
section 12 of the Defence Amendment Act
1979.

Salary
of sailors holding the rank of Leading Seaman or a lower rank
1. Regulation 31 of the
Naval Financial Regulations is amended by omitting sub-regulation (8).
Chaplains’
equipment allowance
2. Regulation 122a of the Naval Financial Regulations is
amended by omitting from sub-paragraph (a) (i) of sub-regulation (2) “Chaplains’
equipment allowance referred to in paragraph 288 (2) (a)” and substituting “$25
to cover the purchase of appropriate ecclesiastical vestments and equipment or
the amount of Chaplain’s (Reserves) Equipment Allowance referred to in
paragraph 4 (a) of Determination 0699, Chaplain’s (Reserves) Equipment
Allowance, made under section 58b
of the Defence Act 1903”.
