Naval Financial Regulations2 (Amendment)

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Naval Defence Act 1910.

Interpretation

1. Regulation 4 to the Naval Financial Regulations is amended:

(a) by omitting from subregulation (1) the definitions of "authority of a State", "Board of Medical Survey", "checked sick", "Commonwealth Medical Officer", "detached duty", "harbour craft", "intended", "intermediate term duty", "living in", "living out", "lodgings", "long leave", "long term duty", "major war vessel", "place of detention", "recognized secondary school", "Royal Navy", "short leave", "sick on shore", "supply officer", "the Naval Officer-in-Charge", "time of peace", "unmarried member" and "weekend or periodic detention";

(b) by omitting subregulations (2) and (4);

(c) by omitting from subregulation (5) " 'category M member', 'category MS member', 'category O member',";

(d) by omitting from subregulation (5) ", 'dependant' and 'home' " and substituting "and 'dependant' "; and

(e) by omitting subregulations (8), (9), (10) and (11).

Repeals

2. Regulations 5a, 7, 122B, 132a, Parts VIII and IX and Division 2 of Part X of the Naval Financial Regulations are repealed.

Medical and dental treatment

3. Regulation 244 of the Naval Financial Regulations is amended by omitting "Repatriation Act 1920" from the definition of "Repatriation Hospital" in subregulation (7) and substituting "Veterans' Entitlements Act 1986".

4. Regulation 263 of the Naval Financial Regulations is repealed and the following regulation substituted:

Interpretation of Part XVI

"263. In this Part, unless the contrary intention appears, 'member' means a reserve member.".

Further repeals

5. Division 3 of Part XVI and regulations 298 and 299 of the Naval Financial Regulations are repealed.
