1961. No. 96.

REGULATIONS UNDER THE NAVAL DEFENCE ACT 1910-1952.*

I, THE ADMINISTRATOR of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Naval Defence Act 1910-1952.

AMENDMENTS OF THE NAVAL FINANCIAL REGULATIONS. 

Commencement.

1. These Regulations shall be deemed to have come into operation on the fourteenth day of July, 1961.

Parts.

2. Regulation 3 of the Naval Financial Regulations is amended by inserting after the words and figures—

“Division 2.—Apprentices (Regulation 79).”

the words and figures—

“Part IIIA.—Variations of Active Pay—Officers and Men (Regulation 79A).”.

First Naval Member, Rear-Admiral and Commodore, First Class—rates of pay.

3. Regulation 15 of the Naval Financial Regulations is amended by omitting from sub-regulation (3.) the words “Four thousand seven hundred and seventy-seven pounds” and inserting in their stead the words “Four thousand eight hundred and eight pounds”.

4. After Part III. of the Naval Financial Regulations the following Part is inserted:—

“PART IIIA.—VARIATIONS OF ACTIVE PAY—OFFICERS AND MEN.

Variations of active pay.

“79A. The rate of active pay payable under Part II. or Part III. of these Regulations to a member shall be increased by whichever of the rates specified in the table in this regulation is applicable in relation to the member.

Marriage allowance.

5. Regulation 80 of the Naval Financial Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from sub-regulation (1.) the words “Eight shillings” and inserting in their stead the words “Eight shillings and threepence”;

(b)by omitting from sub-regulation (3.) the words “Thirteen shillings and sixpence” (wherever occurring) and inserting in their stead the words “Fourteen shillings”; and

(c) by omitting from sub-regulation (5.) the words “Thirteen shillings and sixpence” (wherever occurring) and inserting in their stead the words “Fourteen shillings”.

Qualifying allotment for payment of full rate of marriage allowance.

6. Regulation 84 of the Naval Financial Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from paragraph (a) of sub-regulation (1.) the words “One pound one shilling and sixpence” and inserting in their stead the words “One pound two shillings and threepence”; and

(b) by omitting from paragraph (b)of sub-regulation (1.) the words “One pound eight shillings and sixpence” and inserting in their stead the words “One pound nine shillings and threepence”.

Living out allowance—unmarried members.

7. Regulation 92 of the Naval Financial Regulations is amended by omitting from sub-regulation (1.) the words “Nine shillings and sixpence” and inserting in their stead the words “Nine shillings and ninepence”.

Retention of lodgings allowance.

8. Regulation 94 of the Naval Financial Regulations is amended by omitting from paragraph (a) of sub-regulation (4.) the words “Nine shillings and sixpence” and inserting in their stead the words “Nine shillings and ninepence”.

Oversea living out allowance.

9.—(1.) Regulation 96 of the Naval Financial Regulations is amended by omitting the table in sub-regulation (3.) and inserting in its stead the following table:—

Supplementary travelling allowance.

10. Regulation 206A of the Naval Financial Regulations is amended by omitting the words “Nine shillings and sixpence” and inserting in their stead the words “Nine shillings and ninepence”.

11. After regulation 252 of the Naval Financial Regulations the following regulation is inserted:—

Variation of active pay.

“252A. The daily rate of active pay payable to an officer or a service-woman of the Women’s Service under whichever of the last two preceding regulations is applicable shall be increased by One shilling.”.
