STATUTORY RULES.

1963. No. 94

REGULATIONS UNDER THE NAVAL DEFENCE ACT 1910-1952.*

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Naval Defence Act 1910-1952.

Amendments of the Naval Financial Regulations.  

Commencement.

1. These Regulations shall come into operation on the fourth day of October, 1963.

Engineroom Watchkeeping Certificate allowance.

2. Regulation 43 of the Naval Financial Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from paragraph (a) the words “Engineroom Artificer, Fourth Class” and inserting in their stead the words “Engineroom Artificer, Second Class”; and

(b)by omitting paragraph (b)and inserting in its stead the following paragraph:—

“(b)to a man holding the rating of Aircraft Artificer, First Class, or a higher rating, who was transferred, before the thirtieth day of May, 1952, from the rating known at that date as Engineroom Artificer, Third Class, or from a higher rating, and who was qualified for an Engineroom Watchkeeping Certificate or a Unit Watchkeeping Certificate before the date of his transfer; and”.

Active pay and allowances.

3. Regulation 79 of the Naval Financial Regulations is amended by omitting from sub-regulation (3.) the words “Artificer Fifth Class” and inserting in their stead the words “Artificer, Third Class,”.

Rates of higher duties allowance.

4. Regulation 115 of the Naval Financial Regulations is amended by omitting from sub-regulation (7.) the words “First, Second, Third or Fourth Class” and inserting in their stead the words “First or Second Class”.

Application.

7. Entertainment allowance under sub-regulation (3.) of regulation 104 of the Naval Financial Regulations as amended by regulation 1 of Statutory Rules 1963, No. 54 is payable, by virtue of this regulation, in accordance with the first determination made by the Naval Board for the purposes of that sub-regulation after the commencement of those Statutory Rules, in respect of each day in the period from and including the first day of September, 1962, to and including the twentieth day of February, 1963, in respect of which an officer or a member of the rating of Chief Petty Officer is entitled to be paid oversea living in allowance.
