REGULATIONS UNDER THE NAVAL DEFENCE ACT 1910–1934.*

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations, under the Naval Defence Act 1910–1934.

Amendment of Naval Financial Regulations. 

Operation of amendments.

1. Regulations 2 and 3 of these Regulations shall come into operation on the first day of August, 1937.

Kit upkeep allowance.

2. Regulation 34, sub-regulation (1), of the Naval Financial Regulations is amended by omitting the amounts “7½d.”, “6½d.”, “7d.” and “7d.” and inserting in their stead the amounts “8d.”, “7d.”, “7½d.” and “7½d”, respectively.

Outfit gratuities on change or class or uniform.

3. Regulation 35, sub-regulation (1), of the Naval Financial Regulations is amended by omitting the amounts “£13 15s.”, “£12”, “£11 5s.” and “£9” and inserting in their stead the amounts “£14 12s. 6d.”, “£12 10s. 0d.”, “£11 12s. 6d.” and “£9 15s.”, respectively.

Bread-making.

4. Regulation 50, sub-regulation (8), of the Naval Financial Regulations is amended by omitting paragraph (b) and inserting in its stead the following paragraph:—

“(b) In Ships fitted with Bakeries—Allowances may be paid at the daily rates specified in the following scale when the ratings employed in the bakery are engaged, in addition to their ordinary duties, in baking bread for issue to other ships. Payment is not to be made to more than four ratings per diem in any ship, and payment at the higher rate is to
