STATUTORY RULES.

1939. No. 71

 

REGULATIONS UNDER THE DEFENCE ACT 1903-1939 AND THE NAVAL DEFENCE ACT 1910-1934.*

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Defence Act 1903-1939 and the Naval Defence Act 1910-1934.

Amendments of the Naval Financial Regulations. 

Outfit Gratuities of Seagoing Officers.

1. Regulation 30 of the Naval Financial Regulations is amended by omitting from the scale in sub-regulation (1) the words and figures—

“Acting Warrant Officer (other than of Schoolmaster Branch)...........................................................................

and inserting in their stead the following words and figures:—

Allowances to Officers.

2. Regulation 45 of the Naval Financial Regulations is amended by adding at the end thereof the following sub-regulation:—

“(61) Gunner, Gunner (T), Commissioned Gunner and Commissioned Gunner (T) performing the dual duties of Gunner and Gunner (T) in a Destroyer...................................................................................................

Payment shall in each case be subject to the approval of the Naval Board.”.

3. Regulation 46 of the Naval Financial Regulations is amended by omitting from sub-regulation (7) the words and figures—

and inserting in their stead the following words and figures:—

4. Regulation 48 of the Naval Financial Regulations is amended by omitting sub-regulation (56) and inserting in its stead the following sub-regulation:—

5.—(1) Regulation 64 of the Naval Financial Regulations is amended by inserting in the scale set out in sub-regulation (1), before the rank of “Captain” and the particulars relating thereto, the following rank and particulars:—

(2) This regulation shall be deemed to have come into operation as from the twentieth day of April, 1939.

6. Regulations 1, 2 and 3 of these Regulations shall be deemed to have come into operation as from the first day of February, 1939.
