REGULATIONS UNDER THE DEFENCE ACT 1903-1939 AND THE NAVAL DEFENCE ACT 1910-1934.*

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Defence Act 1903-1939 and the Naval Defence Act 1910-1934.

Amendment of the Naval Financial Regulations.

Special allowances.

1. Regulation 48 of the Naval Financial Regulations is amended by inserting, after sub-regulation (8a), the following sub-regulation:—

“(8b) | Cyphering | 0 6”

Payment of allowance from 9th May, 1940.

2. Any Petty Officer or man who, during the period on and from the ninth day of May, 1940, to the date upon which these Regulations came into operation, performed the duty of cyphering may, in respect of his performance of that duty, be paid an allowance at the rate prescribed in regulation 48 of the Naval Financial Regulations, as amended by regulation 1 of these Regulations.
