REGULATIONS UNDER THE NAVAL DEFENCE ACT 1910-1952.*

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Naval Defence Act 1910-1952.

AMENDMENTS OF THE NAVAL FINANCIAL (CITIZEN FORCES) REGULATIONS.  

Rates of pay—officers.

1. Regulation 8 of the Naval Financial (Citizen Forces) Regulations is amended by adding at the end thereof the following sub-regulation:—

“(2.) The daily rate of active pay payable to a Chaplain of the Citizen Naval Forces is the rate specified in the First Schedule to these Regulations in relation to Chaplains.”.

Variation of active pay.

2. Regulation 9A of the Naval Financial (Citizen Forces) Regulations is repealed.

First and Second Schedules.

3. The First and Second Schedules to the Naval Financial (Citizen Forces) Regulations are repealed and the following schedules inserted in their stead:—

Application.

4.—(1.) This regulation applies in a case where an officer or aman of the Citizen Naval Forces has received or is entitled to receive active pay in accordance with the First or Second Schedule to the Naval Financial (Citizen Forces) Regulations in respect of a day or part of a day in the period from and including the first day of July, 1963, to and including the day immediately preceding the commencement of this regulation.

(2.) The rate of active pay applicable under the Naval Financial (Citizen Forces) Regulations during the period referred to in the last preceding sub-regulation shall, in a case to which this regulation applies, be increased by an amount equal to the amount by which that rate is less than the rate of active pay that would have been applicable if the amendments made by these Regulations had taken effect on the first day of July, 1963.
