STATUTORY RULES

1967 No. 166

REGULATIONS UNDER THE NAVAL DEFENCE ACT 1910-1966.*

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Naval Defence Act 1910-1966.

Amendments of the Naval Establishments Regulations 

Third Schedule.

1.—(1.) The Third Schedule to the Naval Establishments Regulations is amended by omitting items 17, 18, 44, 45, 46 and 47 in Part I. and inserting in their stead the following items, respectively:—

(2.) The Third Schedule to the Naval Establishments Regulations is amended by omitting item 58 in Part I.

(3.) The Third Schedule to the Naval Establishments Regulations is amended by inserting after item 60 in Part I. the following item:—

(4.) The Third Schedule to the Naval Establishments Regulations is amended by omitting item 63 in Part I.

Application.

2.—(1.) The scales of rates of annual salary specified in items 17 and 18 in Part I. of the Third Schedule to the Naval Establishments Regulations as amended by these Regulations apply to and in relation to service in a position of Films Officer or Films Editor, respectively, on and after the second day of February, 1967.

(2.) A person who occupied a position of Films Officer or Films Editor under the Naval Establishments Regulations during the period from and including the twentieth day of June, 1966, to and including the first day of February, 1967, or during a part of that period, is, by virtue of this sub-regulation, entitled to be paid additional salary in respect of that period or that part of that period of an amount equal to the amount by which the salary paid or payable to the person

in respect of that period or that part of that period under regulation 43 of the Naval Establishments Regulations is less than the amount of salary that would have been payable to the person if—

(a)in the case of a person who occupied a position of Films Officer— the person had been entitled to be paid salary in accordance with the following scale of rates, that is to say, $4,844-$5,048-$5,250, instead of the scale of rates specified in item 17 of Part I. of the Third Schedule to the Naval Establishments Regulations; or

(b)in the case of a person who occupied a position of Films Editor— the person had been entitled to be paid salary in accordance with the following scale of rates, that is to say, $3,768-$3,890-$4,012-$4,134-$4,256-$4,378-$4,500, instead of the scale of rates specified in item 18 of Part I. of the Third Schedule to the Naval Establishments Regulations.

(3.) The scales of rates of annual salary specified in items 44, 45, 46 and 47 in Part I. of the Third Schedule to the Naval Establishments Regulations as amended by these Regulations apply to and in relation to service in a position of Assistant, Grade 1, Assistant, Grade 2, Assistant, Grade 3 or Assistant, Grade 4, respectively, on and after the sixth day of July, 1967.
