STATUTORY RULES

1967 No. 18

REGULATIONS UNDER THE NAVAL DEFENCE ACT 1910-1966.*

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Naval Defence Act 1910-1966.

Amendments of the Naval Establishments Regulations 

1. After regulation 43 of the Naval Establishments Regulations the following regulation is inserted:—

Rates of pay of senior sisters and sisters (industrial).

" 43a.—(1.) The scale of rates of annual salary payable to a person who occupies a position referred to in the following table is the scale of rates specified in that table opposite to the reference to the position:—

" (2.) The last preceding regulation applies to and in relation to a scale of rates of annual salary specified, in the table in the last preceding sub-regulation, in relation to a position referred to in that table as if the position were a position specified in the second column of Part II. of the Third Schedule to these Regulations and the scale of rates were specified in the third column of that Schedule in relation to that position.".

Third Schedule.

2.—(1.) The Third Schedule to the Naval Establishments Regulations is amended by inserting after item 57 the following item:—

(2.) The Third Schedule to the Naval Establishments Regulations is further amended by omitting items 62, 63, 64, 66, 67 and 136 and inserting in their stead the following items respectively:—

(3.) The Third Schedule to the Naval Establishments Regulations is further amended by omitting items 148 and 149.

(4.) The scale of rates of annual salary specified in item 136 of the Third Schedule to the Naval Establishments Regulations as amended by these Regulations applies to and in relation to service in the position of Supervisor of Apprentices on and after the twentieth day of January, 1966.

Transitional.

3. A person who, during the period or a part of the period specified in an item in the following table, occupied a position referred to in that item is, by virtue of this regulation, entitled to be paid additional salary in respect of that period or the part of that period of an amount equal to the amount by which the salary paid or payable to her in respect of the period or the part of the period under regulation 43 of the Naval Establishments Regulations is less than the amount of salary that would have been payable to her if she had been entitled to be paid salary at the scale of rates specified in that item in lieu of the appropriate scale of rates specified in the Third Schedule to the Naval Establishments Regulations.
