REGULATIONS UNDER THE NAVAL DEFENCE ACT 1910-1964.*

I, THE ADMINISTRATOR of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Naval Defence Act 1910-1964.

Amendments of the Naval College Regulations 

Parts.

1.Regulation 3 of the Naval College Regulations is amended by omitting the words—

“Part VI.—Cadet Midshipmen’s Canteen.”.

Dental treatment.

2.Regulation 13 of the Naval College Regulations is repealed.

Repeal.

3.Regulations 28 and 29 of the Naval College Regulations, and the heading to those regulations, are repealed.

Rates of pay.

4.—(1.) Regulation 37 of the Naval College Regulations is amended by omitting the table in sub-regulation (1.) and inserting in its stead the following table:—

(2.) The annual rate of salary payable on and after the date of commencement of these Regulations to an officer of the Professorial Staff who was such an officer on that commencement is the annual rate specified in the

(3.) An officer of the Professorial Staff becomes entitled to the next increment (if any) payable under the Naval College Regulations as amended by these Regulations—

(a)on the anniversary of the day on which he received his last increment under the Naval College Regulations in force immediately before the commencement of these Regulations; or

(b)if on the date of commencement of these Regulations, he had not completed twelve months’ service in the grade in which he is serving on that commencement—the anniversary of the date on which he commenced service in that grade.

(4.) An officer of the Professorial Staff, who, for any part of the period that commenced on the eighteenth day of October, 1963, and ended on the day immediately before the date of commencement of these Regulations, received salary at an annual rate specified in the first column of the table in sub-regulation (2.) of this regulation, shall be paid, in respect of the period for which he received salary at that rate, an amount equal to the difference between the amount of salary paid to him in respect of that period and the amount of salary that would have been paid to him if his annual rate of salary had been that specified in the second column opposite to that first-mentioned rate of salary.

Leave during vacation.

5. Regulation 53 of the Naval College Regulations is amended by omitting the words “, subject to the provisions of regulation 54,”.

Repeal.

6.Regulations 54, 55, 56, 62, 66, 67, 68, 79 and 80 of the Naval College Regulations are repealed.

Part VI.

7.Part VI. of the Naval College Regulations is repealed.

College report.

8.Regulation 85 of the Naval College Regulations is repealed.
