REGULATIONS UNDER THE NAVAL DEFENCE ACT 1910-1965.*

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Naval Defence Act 1910-1965.

Amendments of the Naval College Regulations 

Senior entry.

1. Regulation 6b of the Naval College Regulations is amended by inserting in paragraph (c) of sub-regulation (1.), after the word “years”, the words “and six months”.

Rates of pay.

2.Regulation 37 of the Naval College Regulations is amended by omitting the table in sub-regulation (1.) and inserting in its stead the following table:—

Repeal of Regulation 37a.

3. Regulation 37a of the Naval College Regulations is repealed.

4.Regulation 41 of the Naval College Regulations is repealed and the following regulations are inserted in its stead:—

Expenses on appointment.

“41.—(1.) A person who is appointed to the Professorial Staff may, upon commencing duty be reimbursed an amount equal to the expense incurred by him in travelling to the place at which he is to perform his duties, and if his wife and children (if any) take up residence at that place, an amount equal to the expense of transporting his wife and children to that place.

 “(2.) Where a married person is appointed to the Professorial Staff, the cost of transporting his furniture and personal effects to the place where he is to perform his duties shall be borne by the Department.

“(3.) Nothing in sub-regulation (4.) of regulation 33a of these Regulations prevents a person being reimbursed under this regulation.

Expenses on retirement.

“41a.—(1.) When an officer of the Professorial Staff retires he may, with the approval of the Naval Board, be reimbursed an amount equal to the expense incurred by him in travelling to the place at which he is to reside and, if his wife and children (if any) take up residence at that place, an amount equal to the expense of transporting his wife and children to that place.

“(2.) When a person retires from the Professorial Staff, the costs of transporting his furniture and personal effects to the place at which he is to reside may, with the approval of the Naval Board, be borne by the Department.”.

Amendments in relation to decimal currency.

5.The Naval College Regulations are amended as set out in the Schedule to these regulations.
