STATUTORY RULES.
REGULATIONS UNDER THE NAVAL DEFENCE ACT 1910-1918.

advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations
under the

Amendment of Naval College Regulations.
(Statutory Rules 1921, No. 239, as amended to present date.)
(1) By omitting from the third and fifth lines of sub-regulation (1) the words “Board of Studies” and inserting in their stead the word “Captain”.
(2) By omitting sub-regulation (2) and inserting in its stead the following sub-regulations:—
“(2) On the recommendation of the Captain, the appointment may be terminated summarily at any time for misconduct, physical unfitness, or unsatisfactory performance of duty.
“(3) A member of the Professorial Staff may, by writing under his hand, resign his appointment at any time, not being less than three months from the date of the resignation. The resignation shall not have effect until it has been accepted, but it may, in special circumstances, be accepted at any time after the receipt thereof.”
“62. (1) The kit of a Cadet Midshipman shall be comprised of such articles as may be approved by the Naval Board. Cadet Midshipmen on entry shall be supplied gratuitously with a complete kit, and all necessary subsequent replacements of clothing, and repairs to footwear, will be made at the expense of the Cadet Midshipman.
(2) A clothing allowance, at the rate of 1s. 4d. per diem, shall be credited to each Cadet Midshipman, and the value of issues and repairs referred to in sub-regulation (1) of this regulation shall be charged against such allowance.
(3) Except on termination of his appointment, any balance of the clothing allowance at the credit of the Cadet Midshipman’s account may be paid to him on leaving the College.
(4) The value of any issues and repairs in excess of the clothing allowance shall be transferred with the Cadet Midshipman, and charged against his pay account for gradual recovery or, in the event of the termination of his appointment, recovered from his parents or guardians.
(5) Clothing or other items of kit left about in improper places shall be taken charge of by the Cadet Gunner, and a fine of 1d. for each article shall be charged against the weekly pocket money of the Cadet Midshipman concerned, prior to its restoration.
