REGULATIONS UNDER THE NAVAL DEFENCE ACT 1910-1918.

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Naval Defence Act 1910-1918, to come into operation on and from 1st May, 1920.

Amendment of Naval College Regulations.

(Statutory Rules 1916, No. 61, as amended to present date.)

1. Regulation 46 is amended—

(a) by omitting the words “or on board the Instructional Cruiser”; and

(b) by adding at the end thereof the following sub-regulation:—

“(2) Whilst undergoing training on board the Instructional Cruiser, Cadet Midshipmen shall receive an allowance of 2s. 6d. per diem as from the date of embarkation.”

2. Regulation 51 is repealed and the following regulation inserted in its stead:—

“51. Except when undergoing training on board the Instructional Cruiser, Cadet Midshipmen shall not be allowed to retain in their possession sums exceeding Five shillings. All money in excess of this amount shall be deposited in the Bank.”

3. Regulation 60 is amended—

(a) by inserting after the words “will be conducted” the words “at the College” and

(b) by adding at the end thereof the following sub-regulation:—

“(2) When undergoing training on board the Instructional Cruiser, the cost of laundry work in connexion with Cadet Midshipmen’s clothing and mess linen shall be chargeable to Government Funds.”
