STATUTORY RULES.
REGULATIONS UNDER THE NAVAL DEFENCE ACT 1910–1918.
I, THE
GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the
advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations
under the

Amendment of Naval Brigade Regulations.
(Statutory Rules 1913, No. 250, as amended by Statutory Rules 1914, No. 40; 1915, No, 157; 1916, No. 214; and 1919, No. 1.)
1. Regulation 265 is repealed, as from 4th August, 1914, and the following inserted in its stead:—
“265. Members of the Adult Force shall be paid for drills at the following rates—

2. Regulation 277 is amended, as from 4th August, 1914, by inserting immediately after the words “provided that” in line three, the following words :—
except in the case of Ordinary Seamen and relative ratings who shall receive not less than five shillings (5s.) per diem,”
3. Regulation 279 is amended, as from 1st September, 1918, by omitting sub-regulation (1) and inserting the following in its stead:—
“Separation Allowance. In the case of Leading Seaman and lower ratings and their relative ratings, Separation Allowance at the following rates shall be payable in addition to pay, provided that the total pay drawn in cash by the rating does not, in any case, exceed Nine shillings (9s.) per diem; but where one of the above ratings is eligible for Separation Allowance and payment of such allowance, together with the daily rate of pay, would exceed Nine shillings (9s.) per diem, payment of a proportionate amount of Separation Allowance to bring the total amount of daily pay to Nine shillings (9s.) may be paid:—
