s1 2 s3 Nature Conservation (Wildlife) Amendment Regulation (No. 1) 2004 No. 9, 2004 1 Short title This regulation may be cited as the Nature Conservation (Wildlife) Amendment Regulation (No. 1) 2004 . 2 Regulation amended This regulation amends the Nature Conservation (Wildlife) Regulation 1994. 3 Replacement of s 3 (Meaning of “recovery plan”) Section 3— omit, insert — ‘3 Definitions ‘In this regulation— “bioregion report” means the document called ‘The Conservation Status of Queensland’s Bioregional Ecosystems’, edited by Sattler, P.S. and Williams R.D., and published by the department. 1 “recovery plan” — 1. A recovery plan, in relation to wildlife, is a document stating what research and management is necessary to stop the decline, support the recovery, or enhance the chance of long-term survival in the wild, of the wildlife. 2. A recovery plan may be a recovery plan made or adopted under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Act 1999 (Cwlth), section 269A. 2 “southeast Queensland bioregion” means the area shown as the southeast Queensland bioregion on figure 12a of the bioregion report.’. 1 A copy of the report may be inspected free of charge, during office hours on business days, at the department’s head office at 160 Ann Street, Brisbane. 2 The Environment Protection and Biodiversity Act 1999 (Cwlth), section 269A (Making or adopting a recovery plan).
s4 3 s5 Nature Conservation (Wildlife) Amendment Regulation (No. 1) 2004 No. 9, 2004 4 Amendment of sch 3 (Vulnerable wildlife) Schedule 3, section 10— insert — ‘ (2) Also, a koala ( Phascolarctos cinereus ) is a vulnerable mammal for the southeast Queensland bioregion. 3 ’. 5 Amendment of sch 5 (Common wildlife) Schedule 5, section 4(2)— omit, insert— ‘ (2) The following mammals are included in common wildlife— (a) echidna ( Tachyglossus aculeatus ); (b) koala ( Phascolarctos cinereus ), for an area other than the southeast Queensland bioregion; 4 (c) platypus ( Ornithorynchus anatinus ).’.
