(2) Section 2— insert— Maclennan Cay means the coral cay at latitude 11º19' south, longitude 143º48' east. Moulter Cay means the coral cay at latitude 11º24'30" south, longitude 144º01'11" east. s4 6 s4 Nature Conservation (Protected Areas) Amendment No. 116, 2006 Regulation (No. 1) 2006 ‘558 Significant cultural and natural resources and values ‘The nature refuge supports— (a) Eucalyptus drepanophylla ± E. platyphylla ± Corymbia clarksoniana woodland on low to medium hills, on Mesozoic to Proterozoic igneous rocks, described as the not of concern regional ecosystem 8.12.6, that has a low representation in the protected area estate; and (b) suitable habitat for rare and threatened species including— (i) the vulnerable rufous owl (southern subspecies) ( Ninox rufa queenslandica ) and coastal sheathtail bat ( Taphozous australis ); and (ii) the rare grey goshawk novaehollandiae ); and ( Accipiter (c) the cultural and natural values of the nearby Pioneer Peaks National Park; and (d) protection of significant regrowth providing viable habitat and adjoining remnant vegetation that links 2 sections of Pioneer Peaks National Park. ‘Part 187 Egerton Nature Refuge ‘559 Name ‘Egerton Nature Refuge. ‘560 Description ‘The parts of lots 1 and 2 on RP211096 situated in the County of March, containing an area of about 30.6ha, shown on plan PA221.
s4 7 s4 Nature Conservation (Protected Areas) Amendment No. 116, 2006 Regulation (No. 1) 2006 ‘561 Significant cultural and natural resources and values ‘The nature refuge supports— (a) the following regional ecosystems that have a low representation in the protected area estate— (i) Eucalyptus saligna or E. grandis tall open forest on Cainozoic igneous rocks, described as the of concern regional ecosystem 12.8.8; (ii) complex notophyll vine forest on Cainozoic igneous rocks at altitude <600m, described as the not of concern regional ecosystem 12.8.3; (iii) Eucalyptus siderophloia , E. propinqua , E. acmenoides open forest on near coastal hills on Mesozoic to Proterozoic igneous rocks, described as the not of concern regional ecosystem 12.12.15; and (b) known habitat for rare and threatened species including— (i) the vulnerable Richmond birdwing butterfly ( Ornithoptera richmondia ); and (ii) the rare Pararistolochia praevenosa ; and (c) suitable habitat for rare and threatened species including— (i) the endangered Graptophyllum reticulatum , Macadamia jansenii , Plectranthus torrenticola , Pouteria eerwah and Triunia robusta ; and (ii) the vulnerable Macadamia integrifolia , macadamia nut ( Macadamia tetraphylla ) and red lilly pilly ( Syzygium hodgkinsoniae ); and (iii) the rare thozetia, rusty vine ( Marsdenia hemiptera ); and (d) vegetation that is part of a bioregional wildlife corridor and strategically located in close proximity to Kondalilla National Park and Maleny Forest Reserve 3 and buffering the immediate catchment area of Baroon Pocket Dam.

s 4 23 s 4 Nature Conservation (Protected Areas) Amendment No. 116, 2006 Regulation (No. 1) 2006 (a) the following not of concern regional ecosystems— (i) complex notophyll to mesophyll vine forest of high rainfall, cloudy uplands on basalt, described as regional ecosystem 7.8.2; (ii) complex notophyll vine forest with Agathis robusta emergents, on metamorphics of moist foothills and uplands, described as regional ecosystem 7.11.7; and (b) suitable habitat for rare and threatened species including— (i) the endangered southern cassowary (southern population) ( Casuarius casuarius ) and torrent tree frog ( Litoria nannotis ); and (ii) the rare Lumholtz’s tree kangaroo ( Dendrolagus lumholtzi ); and (iii) the rare Bubbia queenslandiana , Elaeocarpus johnsonii , Endiandra dicrophylla , Linospadix palmeriana , Mammea touriga and Sarcopteryx acuminata ; and (c) the cultural and natural values of the adjoining Wooroonooran National Park and the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area; and (d) catchment protection along Wairambar Creek and other smaller creeks in the upper catchment of the Russell River. ‘Part 204 Wait-a-while Nature Refuge ‘610 Name ‘Wait-a-While Nature Refuge.
s 4 24 s 4 Nature Conservation (Protected Areas) Amendment No. 116, 2006 Regulation (No. 1) 2006 ‘611 Description ‘Lot 4 on RP726799 situated in the County of Nares, containing an area of about 46.3ha, shown on plan PA237. ‘612 Significant cultural and natural resources and values ‘The nature refuge supports— (a) the following regional ecosystems— (i) simple to complex mesophyll to notophyll vine forest on moderate to poorly drained alluvial plains of moderate fertility, described as the of concern regional ecosystem 7.3.10; (ii) Corymbia intermedia and/or C. tessellaris ± Eucalyptus tereticornis medium to tall open forest to woodland (or vine forest with these species as emergents), on coastal metamorphic headlands and near-coastal foothills, described as the of concern regional ecosystem 7.11.18; (iii) simple to complex mesophyll to notophyll vine forest on moderately to poorly drained metamorphics (excluding amphibolites) of moderate fertility of the moist and wet lowlands, foothills and uplands, described as the not of concern regional ecosystem 7.11.1; and (b) known habitat for the rare Polyosma rigidiuscula ; and (c) suitable habitat for rare and threatened species including— (i) the endangered southern cassowary (southern population) ( Casuarius casuarius ); and (ii) the rare Lumholtz’s tree-kangaroo ( Dendrolagus lumholtzi ); and (d) the cultural and natural values of the adjoining Mount Chalmynia section of the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area, providing linkage habitat between Wooroonooran and Eubenangee Swamp National Parks; and (e) catchment protection to Russell River.

s 5 27 s 5 Nature Conservation (Protected Areas) Amendment No. 116, 2006 Regulation (No. 1) 2006 (d) significant indigenous cultural heritage values and areas of indigenous cultural heritage interest; and (e) the cultural and natural values of the adjacent Lakefield National Park. ‘9 Interim management intent and use ‘(1) The coordinated conservation area consists of the area that is the subject of the conservation agreement for the area. ‘(2) The coordinated conservation area will be managed to— (a) conserve the following in the area— (i) the area’s distinctive chenier ridge; (ii) the area’s evergreen notophyll vine forest; (iii) habitat for the endangered star finch and other rare and threatened species; (iv) significant indigenous cultural heritage values and areas of indigenous cultural heritage interest; and (b) allow for— (i) controlled cattle grazing that is not on a commercial basis; and (ii) domestic living areas and associated infrastructure; and (iii) tourist facilities and activities, including campgrounds and guiding services, that have a low environmental impact. ‘10 Duration ‘The duration of the declaration of the coordinated conservation area is the duration of the conservation agreement for the area.’.
