s1 2 s4 Nature Conservation (Macropod Harvest Period) (No. 2) No. 145, 1996 ˙ Short title 1. This notice may be cited as the Nature Conservation (Macropod Harvest Period) Notice (No. 2) 1996 . ˙ Commencement 2. This notice commences on 21 June 1996. ˙ Prescribed size and weight of macropod for this notice 3. For this notice, a macropod is— (a) the prescribed size if it has a skin size of 0.46 m 2 or more; and (b) the prescribed weight if— (i) its carcass weighs 14 kg or more after its lungs, liver, heart and diaphragm are removed; or (ii) its carcass weighs 15 kg or more with its lungs, liver, heart, diaphragm and kidneys intact. ˙ Harvest period for certain macropods 4.(1) This section applies to the following macropods that are the prescribed size and weight— (a) an eastern grey kangaroo ( Macropus giganteus ); (b) a red kangaroo ( Macropus rufus ); (c) a wallaroo ( Macropus robustus ). (2) A harvest period for the macropods applies during the following periods— (a) 21 June 1996 to midday 22 July 1996; (b) 5 August 1996 to midday 2 September 1996; (c) 16 September 1996 to midday 14 October 1996; (d) 28 October 1996 to midday 25 November 1996; (e) 9 December 1996 to 31 December 1996.
s5 3 s6 Nature Conservation (Macropod Harvest Period) (No. 2) No. 145, 1996 (3) The harvest period applies only in the areas of the local governments stated for the macropods in the schedule. ˙ Harvest period for whiptail wallaby 5.(1) This section applies to the whiptail wallaby ( Macropus parryi ). (2) A harvest period for the whiptail wallaby starts on 21 June 1996 and ends on 31 December 1996. (3) The harvest period applies only in the areas of the local governments stated for the whiptail wallaby in the schedule. ˙ Repeal 6. The Nature Conservation (Macropod Harvest Period) Notice 1996 is repealed.
