Nature Conservation Legislation Amendment Regulation (No. 1) 2008 Part 1 Preliminary [s 1] Part 1 Preliminary 1 Short title This regulation may be cited as the Nature Conservation Legislation Amendment Regulation (No. 1) 2008 . 2 Purpose of regulation (1) The purpose of this regulation is to revoke the dedication of— (a) the whole of the forest reserves mentioned in section 4(1) to allow the forest reserve (each a revoked forest reserve area ) to become a protected area; and (b) a part of each forest reserve mentioned in section 4(2) and (3) to allow the part (also a revoked forest reserve area ) to become a protected area. (2) Each revoked forest reserve area is dedicated as a protected area under part 3. Part 2 Amendment of Nature Conservation (Forest Reserves) Regulation 2000 3 Regulation amended in pt 2 This part amends the Nature Conservation (Forest Reserves)Regulation 2000. 4 Amendment of schedule (Forest reserves) (1) Schedule, entries for Goomboorian Forest Reserve, Mount Spurgeon Forest Reserve and Woondum Forest Reserve 2— omit. Nature Conservation Legislation Amendment Regulation (No. 1) 2008 Part 3 Amendment of Nature Conservation (Protected Areas) Regulation 1994 [s 5] (2) Schedule, entry for Bania Forest Reserve— omit, insert— ‘Bania Forest Reserve Lot 1 on AP14643 situated in the County of Yarrol, containing an area of about 250ha’. (3) Schedule, entry for Wonbah Forest Reserve— omit, insert— ‘Wonbah Forest Reserve Lot 1 on AP14629 situated in the County of Bowen, containing an area of about 42.5ha’. Part 3 Amendment of Nature Conservation (Protected Areas) Regulation 1994 5 Regulation amended in pt 3 This part amends the Nature Conservation (Protected Areas) Regulation 1994. 6 Amendment of sch 2 (National parks) Schedule 2— insert— ‘Bania National Park Lot 70 on plan NPW724 Sh 1 situated in the counties of Bowen and Yarrol, containing an area of about 33110ha 2008 SL No. 251 Page 3
Nature Conservation Legislation Amendment Regulation (No. 1) 2008 Part 4 Expiry [s 7] Goomboorian National Park Mount Spurgeon National Park Lot 214 on plan NPW771 Sh 1 situated in the County of March, containing an area of about 1828ha Lot 197 on plan NPW904 situated in the County of Dagmar, containing an area of about 1194ha’. 7 Amendment of sch 2A (National parks (recovery)) Schedule 2A— insert— ‘Bania National Park (Recovery) Lot 473 on plan NPW724 Sh 2 situated in the County of Yarrol, containing an area of about 11ha Goomboorian National Park (Recovery) Lot 475 on plan NPW771 Sh 2 situated in the County of March, containing an area of about 5ha’. Part 4 Expiry 8 Expiry This regulation expires at the beginning of the day after it commences.
