PART 2—AMENDMENT OF NATURE CONSERVATION (FOREST RESERVES) REGULATION 2000 2 Regulation amended in pt 2 This part amends the NatureConservation(ForestReserves)Regulation 2000. 3 Amendment of sch (Forest reserves) Schedule, heading, ‘sections 2 and 3’— omit, insert ‘section 2’. s6 7 s6 Nature Conservation Legislation Amendment and No. 267, 2002 Repeal Regulation (No. 1) 2002 ‘224 Description ‘The parts of lots 18 and 19 on RP200411 and lot 20 on RP200410 situated in the County of Stanley, containing an area of about 39.3 ha, shown on plan PA89. ‘225 Significant cultural and natural resources and values ‘The nature refuge supports— (a) habitat for the following rare plant species— (i) Kunzea flavescens ; (ii) Leptospermum oreophilum ; and (b) a diversity of vegetation communities, including open forest with heath understorey and closed forests in the moist gullies; and (c) a diverse bushland in contrast to the intensively used and fragmented surrounding landscape. ‘PART 76—GAIA NATURE REFUGE ‘226 Name ‘Gaia Nature Refuge. ‘227 Description ‘Lot 11 on plan S312691 and part of lot 53 on plan S313002 situated in the County of Stanley, containing an area of about 507.8 ha, shown on plan PA80. ‘228 Significant cultural and natural resources and values ‘The nature refuge supports— (a) five regional ecosystem types including araucarian microphyll rainforest identified as of concern in ‘The Conservation Status of Queensland’s Bioregional Ecosystems’; and
s6 8 s6 Nature Conservation Legislation Amendment and No. 267, 2002 Repeal Regulation (No. 1) 2002 (b) a diversity of habitat types including habitat for several rare and threatened flora and fauna species; and (c) catchment protection for the upper reaches of Reedy Creek which flows into Wivenhoe Dam. ‘PART 77—GLEN IDLE NATURE REFUGE ‘229 Name ‘Glen Idle Nature Refuge. ‘230 Description ‘The part of lot 14 on plan NR6649 situated in the County of Nares, containing an area of about 63.7 ha, shown on plan PA78. ‘231 Significant cultural and natural resources and values ‘The nature refuge supports— (a) habitat for the following endangered wildlife— (i) blue orchid ( Dendrobium nindii ); (ii) pitcher plant ( Nepenthes mirabilis Bramston Beach population); (iii) southern cassowary ( Casuarius casuarius ); (iv) swamp orchid ( Phaius tancarvilleae ); and (b) habitat for the following vulnerable wildlife— (i) ant plant ( Myrmecodia beccarii ); (ii) apollo jewel butterfly ( Hypochrysops apollo apollo ); (iii) crimson finch ( Neochmia phaeton ); and (c) a regional ecosystem identified as of concern in ‘The Conservation Status of Queensland’s Bioregional Ecosystems’.
